If you want to rock out “On Cue” can authentically perform Hendrix, Jeff Beck & other styles. If you want to mellow out, we can lighten up and bring the volume down to play some cool fusion and jazz for your listening pleasure!
Frank Varela Guitar:
The 2025 Hartford Courant’s Best Musician Nominee, Frank Varela, has dazzled audiences for many years with his guitar prowess. He is known among his peers as a unique master guitarist. His compositions and numerous recording engagements have brought worldwide recognition, including favorable reviews in “Jazz Improv” magazine and other national publications. The legendary Larry Coryell compared Frank Varela’s playing to Jeff Beck and Grant Green.
Frank Varela attended Berklee School of Music and has been a music instructor and lecturer at the University of Connecticut and was awarded a scholarship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Mike Asetta Bass:
Mike Asetta has toured worldwide with the United States Air Force Jazz Ambassadors for Presidents and other luminaries as well as performed with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Returning to the United States Mike pursued classical music earning a graduate performance certificate at the Yale School of Music and later performed nightly as the house bassist at the world’s largest casino for five years. He has performed with various rock & pop artists: Earth Wind & and Fire, Peter Frampton, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra, Dinah Shore, Kansas, Lou Rawls, Peter Cetera, Martin Short, Regis Philbin, Ben E. King, Don Rickles, Zack Starky (Ringo’s Son), and many more.
Emile de Leon Drums:
Emile performs in New England and has traveled all over the country playing on the road in R & B & Jazz bands as well in theater/show productions and TV. He has taught drums and percussion in the public school system and Wesleyan University. Currently he is performing with the R & B Fusion Trio “On Cue” as well as being featured on Youtube playing Ambient music and World Meditations as Temple Sounds.
